Environmental Commitment
PVC-U is an inherently sustainable product. It has a durability far in excess of timber – the BRE Green Guide says a PVC-U window will last 35 years – and it can be recycled up to 10 times, giving a total life of up to 350 years. Few building materials have this versatility.
Swish is commited to PVC-U and has invested several million pounds in new technology that puts it at the cutting edge of the PVC-U sustainability agenda. Through our sister companies we have been long-established as the largest UK recycler and reprocessor of PVC-U post-industrial manufacturing waste. That material goes back into our products to minimise the volume of raw materials we consume.
Now our focus is on post-consumer waste – recycling old PVC-U frames ripped out of buildings at the end of their useful life. We are also working hard to increase the recycled content of each window made using our products. Innovations like RCM, our recycled alternative to steel reinforcement, and our new recycled PVC-U cavity closer for newbuild increase the level substantial and put Swish products at the very cutting edge
of the market.
